Kafften Ltd was selected to work on this complex brickwork project.
Draycott House resides in a Conservation Area. This project had the added challenge of being located in a busy residential and retail environment requiring careful planning and traffic management to carry out the construction in a progressive and safe manner.
Using our in house tradesmen Kafften performed all the new build brickwork and ties to this project. The pattern and craftsmanship was intricate.
The bonding for the project was specified as Flemish bond with snapped headers. In fact the bonding was varied requiring a complex bonding solution during the course of brickwork construction.
The client instructed Kafften to cut the belly out of the bricks which were protruding. A brick cutter was in operation full time cutting all bricks to enable the 7mm bed joint gauge to be achieved.
The imperial brick did not course with the inner block work wall and required Ancon channels.
External refurbishment, carefully cut back pointing to all standard gaug brickwork (both colours) and repoint in lime/cement mortar . Repoint terracotta copings, remove copper flat roofing and replace with flashed leas roofing. Repair damaged bricks to match existing. Repair stone cill, repair reinstate terracotta balustrade. Tint brickwork to match adjacent. Repair brick arch and replace non matching bricks using our expertise and matching services.
