Hans House

Client: ME Construction
Location: Knightsbridge
Value: £50K

Project description

Kafften have assisted in completing the extensive renovation works to the Grade II listed building for Cadogan Estates at Hans House, Knightsbridge.

Kafften had to take into account that the house is adjacent to and opposite two private schools, as well as the Icelandic Embassy. So, among other things, we had to minimise noise and also ensure continuous access to the area for other people while the work was ongoing ensuring disruption to life and work in the area, was kept to a minimum.

The origins of The Cadogan Estate date from 1717 when Charles, the second Baron Cadogan (1685-1776) married Elizabeth Sloane, daughter of Sir Hans Sloane (1660-1753), who had bought the Manor of Chelsea in 1712 and after whom Hans House is named.
